You have no moral justification to demand INEC chairman's resignation- Ibrahim Shittu tells Oshiomole

Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, has said that APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole, lacks moral justification to call for the resignation of INEC chairman, Yakubu Mahmoud's resignation, over the postponement of the elections.

Shortly after INEC announced the sudden postponement of the elections, Oshiomole who appeared shocked by the announcement, called for Mahmoud's resignation. In his opinion, the action of the INEC chairman and his team to postpone the electuion was borne from their lack of competence to conduct the elections.

California, 15 other states sue President Trump over his decision to declare a national emergency to fund border wall

California and 15 other US states sued President Donald Trump’s administration Monday over his decision to declare a national emergency to fund a wall on the southern border with Mexico, saying the move violated the constitution.

Trump announced the emergency Friday in order to bypass Congress, which approved only a quarter of the $5.6 billion he wanted for the wall in a spending bill. But the lawsuit, filed in a federal court in California, said the president’s order was contrary to the constitution’s presentment and appropriations clauses, which outline legislative procedures and define Congress as the final arbiter of public funds, respectively.

Buhari is seeking that the election is postponed again – CUPP

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) in a new statement is claiming that President Buhari is seeking that the election is again postponed from February 23rd election.

CUPP has revealed that the Department of State Services (DSS) will arrest the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commissioner in charge of operations and logistics, Prof. Okechukwu Ibeanu, today.

Imo Ugochinyere, CUPP’s spokesperson said;

Photos posted by IOM Nigeria on Monday, shows one of the Nigerians, who voluntarily returned from Libya,  kissing the tarmac.

Mathew James was one of the Nigerians who tried to travel to Europe through Libya.

When he disembarked from the plane that brought him and 160 other Nigerian migrants at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on February 14th, James was so overwhelmed with gratitude that he knelt down and kissed the ground.

Buhari's comment on Ballot box snatching promotes jungle justice- Oby Ezekwesili

Former Education Minister, Oby Ezekwesili, has faulted President Buhari's call for security agents to be ruthless on Ballot box snatchers during the general elections.

President Buhari at an APC meeting yesterday, said he has given the military and the police the go ahead to be ruthless on anyone that wants to cause problems during the elections, adding that anyone that attempts to snatch ballot boxes does so at the risk of paying with his or her life.

Reacting via her twitter handle, Ezekwesili said the president's comment is clearly promoting jungle justice.

Lizzy Anjorin Blasts Fan That Asked Her To Help Baba Suwe

Controversial actress, Lizzy Anjorin just bashed a man over the health of veteran Nollywood actor, Baba Suwe amongst other things.

The man went to her Instagram page to ask that she and her Nollywood friends come together to raise funds for the sick actor, but the actress blasted him for being rude with his message.

Maybe the fan got what he asked for since he did not just stop at asking for help on Baba Suwe’s behalf but also added that it is better for Lizzy Anjorin and co to do that than engage in their series of show-offs on social media.

His words were, “Baba Suwe your senior colleague is dying and needs help. Go there with your other colleagues and mobilize for his medical support for his treatment home or abroad either way. There other people people willing to come to his aid only if there’s a little push from you folks who disturb the social media with your meaningless tirade. At least that would be viewed by sane Nigerians that this time you are not just disturbing and constantly raising and provoking social media dust from settling for nothing.”

Driver Arrested For Stealing Evans’ N10.5m Trailers

A 27-year-old commercial bus driver, Mashudu Rabiu, has been arraigned before an Ogba Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing three trailers recovered by the police from a suspected kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, aka Evans.

The defendant, whose residential address was not provided, is facing two counts of conspiracy and stealing.

According to the police prosecutor, Inspector Raphael Donny, the defendant allegedly conspired with others still at large to steal the trailers valued at N10.5m, which were recovered by the police from the suspected kidnap kingpin, whose case is already in court.

American Tennis star, Serena Williams, 37, has returned to the top 10 in the tennis rankings for the first time since taking a break to have her first child.

The mother of one who dropped as low as 491st upon her return in March 2018 is now ranked No 10 after reaching two Grand Slam finals since. She lost to Angelique Kerber at Wimbledon and Naomi Osaka at the US Open.

Osaka remains at the top of the rankings after winning back-to-back Grand Slams. Simona Halep is second and Sloane Stephens is third, while Petra Kvitova dropped to fourth.

EFCC docks car dealer for $25, 300 fraud in Enugu State

The Enugu Zonal office of EFCC on Monday, February 18, 2019 arraigned an Abuja based car dealer, Obinna Clement Ogbuehi before Justice A.A. Nwobodo of the High Court of Enugu State on a two-count charge of obtaining under false pretences and criminal conversion of $25,300 (Twenty Five Thousand Three Hundred U.S Dollars).

Ogbuehi‘s offence according to the charges amount to stealing contrary to Section 342 of the Criminal Code Law of Enugu State, and Obtaining Money by False Pretences contrary to Section 1 (1) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, both of which are punishable under the same laws.

INEC okays resumption of political campaigns

Following the postponement of the elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says political parties can resume their campaigns. The commission gave the directive in a statement released on Monday 18th February 2018.

T.I’s Sister Involved In Terrible Car Accident

T.I and Tiny have stopped shooting “Family & Hustle” due to the absence of one of their own.

The duo have decided to end all production after T.I’s sister was involved in an ugly car crash.

Everyone is still unsure about what led to the accident but all the info TMZ has on it is that the 66-year-old woman hit a pole, which resulted in a triggered asthma attack. 

She was then rushed to a hospital and she’s in ICU as i type this. 

 

But the state of her health is still unknown. 

TMZ sources said the rapper and Tiny are sad after the unfortunate incident and felt it was the wrong time to continue with filming until his sister, Precious, recovers.

T.I is known to have a close relationship with his sister.

On her 66th birthday recently, he wrote, “I hope you know how much u mean to me. Always been my road dawg. Love u much! Hope you enjoyed your day!!”

43-year old Nigerian money launderer, Kazeem Akinwale convicted In UK

Following a tip from Christie’s auction house, London-based Nigerian man who British authorities described as a “go-to money launderer for fraudsters all around the world” has been convicted.

Kazeem Akinwale aka Ola Gapiano, was found guilty of fraud and possessing criminal property after he tried to fool a client of the auction house, the U.K.’s National Crime Agency said.

The 43-year-old controlled bank accounts that processed more than £6 million pounds and took commissions of about £73,000, the agency said.

Police Arraign Two For Stealing 2,514 Chickens

The police in Osun on Monday arraigned Lateef Ajetomobi, 43, and Saraju Yekini 33, in an Osogbo Chief Magistrates ‘ Court for allegedly stealing 2,514 chickens.

The police charged Ajetomobi and Yekini with three counts of theft, conspiracy and deceit. The Prosecutor, Insp Joshua Oladoye, told the court that the defendants committed the offence between May 2018 and August 2018, at Olu farm limited, Osogbo. Oladoye alleged that the defendants and others at large, stole 2,514 chickens valued at N3 million, belonging to one Akosu Samuel.
