Meet the 38 Gorgeous Contestants representing their States at the 2016 Miss Nigeria Beauty Pageant

The 40th edition of the Miss Nigeria pageant is almost here and they have unveiled the thirty-eight contestants who will represent the rich heritage of the thirty-six states in Nigeria plus the FCT. These contestants are the successful candidates who passed through the audition stages held in four different audition locations (Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu and Lagos).

They headed to camp immediately after the auditions. In camp, they have been involved in different activities, which include a three-day intensive empowerment training at NEPC (Nigerian Export Promotional Council), etiquette classes with Janet Adetu and fun choreography sessions.

Other activities planned for camp are courtesy/facility visits, the international beach soccer courtesy of PowerHorse, and mentorship by a renowned WIMBIZ member, amongst others.

These selected contestants will be Judged based on the following criteria; punctuality, etiquette, daily tasks and also the Green Girl challenge.

On the 19^th of December, the Miss Nigeria 2016 Queen will be crowned at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suits, Victoria Island Lagos.

The organizers of  Miss Nigeria 40th Edition have announced their upcoming pageant which will be held on the 19th  of December at the EKO hotel Convention center, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Red carpet starts 5pm to 7 pm. Event goes live at 7.30pm prompt (no African time)

Otunba segun osoba former governor of Ogun state and past MD/ CEO of the dailytimes nigeria,will chair the grand finale.

The minister of information and culture ,Alh Lai mohammed ,minister of environment and Amina mohammed are the special guests.
 Renowned Designers Frank Oshodi , Lanre da silva , kosibah, Adebayo jones and Eyiola will thrill guests with a RUBY fashion show.

It was such an amazing experience on the 12^th of November as all roads led to Eko Hotel and Suites, where the much anticipated 2016 edition of Miss Kanekalon took place.

The ground-breaking event which kicked off at 4pm had lots of distinguished guests and celebrities trooping in – from the fashionistas to the hair lovers and celebrities. The ‘who’s who’ in hair and beauty industry were all there to experience the pageant of the year!

The event picked up at high momentum but reached a peak when the contestant started filing out to showcase their hair and display their talents.

All is set for the second edition of the much anticipated Africa’s Nail Art Competition proudly organized by Nectar Beauty Hub Lagos.

There is always a new fashion trend women in Nigeria adopt every day. Today, Battabox presenter Adeola has discovered a new trend – Eyebrow Tattoo.

“It is called temporary laali (henna) eyebrow,” says Timilehin, one of the eyebrow tattoo vendors.

Adeola visits the popular Yaba market in Lagos which is also known as the local fashion hub of Lagos, where ladies get themselves fashionable items to look pretty.

“This is a beauty place, everything can be done here,” Adeola says

In Yaba market you could get your hair done, nails, makeup, clothes, shoes, bags and what have you, you could even get a gap tooth in Yaba market. But the new trend now is ladies getting their eyebrows tattooed to save themselves the stress of drawing the perfect eyebrow.

“I prefer this one because it doesn’t take time,” says one lady

But what exactly is the difference in the tattooed eyebrow and the normal one drawn with pencil? Adeola asks the lady getting her eyebrows tattooed

“I’ve done it before, it lasted two weeks,” the lady explains.
