The Ogun State Police has arrested a 54-year-old woman, Idowu Olupinla, for allegedly operating a prostitution cartel with teenagers.

reports that she was picked up at the premises of Cherubim and Seraphim
Church, on 52,Okesina Street Ijoko Ota, which she founded and pastors.
Olupinla, who used the church to
perpetrate the crime, was paraded alongside some of her victims at
Eleweran Police Headquarters, Abeokuta.
The police said she allegedly specialised in arranging male sex customers for the teenage girls, aged 14 to 16.
The police said three of the girls were rescued at the church premises.
One of the victims said many of them
were from broken homes, and were lured into prostitution when they
sought help from the woman. The victim added that she and nine other
girls lived with Olupinla for about a year.
“We are about 10 with Mama, She always
arranged men for us to have sex. She created an apartment within the
church premises, where the men slept with us. We charged N500 per sex in
which Mama will collect N300 and give us N200. We get about N1,500 per
day with Olupinla’s commission included,” she said.
She added that most of the girls have
had series of abortions, saying that she herself has had five abortions
while living with the suspect.
The girl also said many of the girls
staying with the woman had series of abortion to enable them continue
the business, but she has had five abortions.
Olupinla denied the allegations, adding that she only provided a place to live for the homeless girls.
The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Ilyasu,
said the victims have been taken to hospital, adding that Olupinla will
be charged with human trafficking and child abuse soon.
