Billionaire Joseph Lau buys world most expensive diamond for his 7-yr old daughter

A billionaire businessman Joseph Lau has spent $69 million on two super rare diamonds for his seven-year-old daughter.

On Wednesday, the 'Blue Moon' diamond sold for a whopping $48.4 million, making it the world's most expensive diamond.According to the auctioneer David Bennett, it is the "highest price per carat" ever obtained for any kind of stone.
Just a day before, at a Christie's auction, also in Geneva, he purchased a 16.08-carat pink diamond, for $28.5 million. He dubbed it, 'Sweet Josephine.'
 The two diamonds were renamed 'Blue Moon Of Josephine' and 'Sweet Josephine', respectively, after his daughter with girlfriend and his one time assistant Chan Hoi-wan.(all pictured above)

World's most expensive diamond
Josephine, his youngest daughter, already has an impressive jewellery collection thanks to him.
According to Strait Times,in 2009,  he purchased a 7.03-carat blue diamond for US$9.48 million. He called it the "Star Of Josephine".
Last year, the doting father bought pieces of jewellery for his other 13-year-old daughter with long-time partner Yvonne Lui, Zoe.
Pink diamond
He paid US$32.6 million for a 9.75-carat 'Zoe Diamond', and HK$65 million (S$11.9 million) for a 'Zoe Red' ruby.

 According to Forbes, Lau is the 114th richest person in the world with an estimated net worth of $9.8 billion.
