This
year’s exhibition which was launched at the Eko Hotel and Suites Lagos on
Saturday, 24th of October 2015 witnessed the presence of many art
lovers and influential artists in Africa.
It
featured the first Mobile Phone Photography
Exhibition with the award-winning Celebrity PhotographerKelechi Amadi-Obi
showcasing his work done entirely with the Huawei P8smartphone. Kelechi had
earlier in the year demonstrated his unrivalled technical ability using the
light painting feature exclusive to the Huawei P8.
Kelechi
Amadi- Obi said he was inspired by the music of Nigeria’s afrobeat legend Fela
Anikulapo Kuti to produce his work. His photos were produced using light
photography, which is a process of using Huawei P8 smartphone light painting
feature. It’s astonishing how this smartphone can ignite ones creativity.
Kelechi said, “I’m using this work
to demonstrate that creativity is about having fun when you think of stuff.
Don’t think about the money just have fun and express yourself by enjoying what
you.”
The P8 is further testimony to Huawei’s dedication to bringing the
latest technology to consumers, offering a world of opportunities, creating
extraordinary experiences and realizing dreams for people the world over.
This feast has been achieved through the
R&D centers established around the world in countries such as the United
States, Germany, Sweden, United Kingdom, France, Japan, Russia, India, and
China. Huawei has more than 7,000 R&D employees focused on consumer
products and solutions, comprising more than 50% of Huawei Consumer BG's total
workforce.
The Huawei stand at the festival gave visitors the chance to have
firsthand interaction with Huawei’s mobile technology, perfectly embodied by
the current flagship phone, the Huawei P8.
Interestingly, LagosPhoto, the parent organization for the
festival, has set one of its main objectives for this year’s event, as
educating visitors about photography. The festival is therefore a natural
habitat for the famed Huawei P8, which was the star attraction at the Huawei
stand.
Also, the festival seeks to use photography for the exploration of
historical and contemporary issues, the sharing of cultural practices, and the
promotion of social programmes. In truth, mobile photography, especially at the
quality of the Huawei P8 will play an increasingly significant role in the
recording and archiving of history and contemporary culture.
