London and Africa’s elite gathered together at the city’s exclusive Bonhams Auction House recently to experience “Africa Now” – an exciting showcase celebrating African music, art and fashion hosted by DJ Cuppy & Temi Otedola.

In conjunction with trustees of the Dangote Foundation and Directors of Bonhams, the exhibition featured artwork from artists El Anatsui – ‘Spirits’ (Ghanaian), Hasan El Glaoui – ‘Moroccan Riders’ (Moroccan), Walter Oltmann – ‘Larva Suit’ (South African) and Aboudia Abdoulaye Diarrassauba – ‘Globalisation’ (Ivorian) amongst others with Peju Alatise – ‘Unconscious Struggle’ (Nigerian) as the main piece.

Temi’s trendy fashion presentation was followed by sister DJ Cuppy who thrilled the huge crowd with a high-energy, interactive musical set featuring a selection of Afrobeat/Pop music and was joined onstage by African dancers and talking drummers.

In attendance were Femi & Nana Otedola, Aliko Dangote, Alex Amosu, Mbadiwe Twins Ozee & Ocee, Tinie Tempah, Footballer Victor Anichebe, Capital Xtra DJ Abrantee, Miss Trinidad & Tobago UK Kalisha Johnson, Producer/Artist Maleek Berry, Lola Rae and Burna Boy – fresh from his UK Homecoming concert – as well as influential London-based art lovers.
